News and Announcements
Introducing Pet Portals! This new feature allows clients to register using the banner located on the right side of this page. Once you provide your e-mail address, we will send you your login and temporary password. By logging in you can view your pet's vaccination due dates and medications. You can also request appointments, grooming, boarding reservations, and diet and prescription refills.
Bordetella Protocol Changes Did you know we have recently changed how often we recommend your dog is vaccinated for kennel cough? We sent out reminders to all of our canine patients to let you know that we are following the recommendations of the American Animal Hospital Association. Studies have shown that the bordetella vaccination does not truly protect dogs for 12 months. It is now recommended to have your dog's bordetella vaccine boostered every 6 months. At Laketown Animal Hospital we typically administer the intranasal bordtella vaccine, which protects your dog against more strains of the kennel cough virus.
Technological upgrades! Visit our Facebook page for additional information on how to become part of the LAH Text Club. Text Club Memebers will receive exclusive deals, coupons, pet tips, and more. We invite you to come visit us on our Facebook page and share your stories, photos, or even questions.
We have also recently acquired a digital x-ray system to provide enhanced imaging capabilities for diagnosing. To showcase the images to clients we currently have 24" computer monitors in all of our exam rooms. Our exam room computers are also equipped with educational software such as Dia; which features detailed articles, descriptions, diagrams, and informational videos for our clients.
Laketown has also converting to electronic medical records. Therefore, we now can e-mail you your pet's medical records, vaccination certificates, x-rays, and estimates.
